Naples Depot Lionel Train Museum - Support
In order to protect, preserve, support and perpetuate the Naples Depot for the future it has become imperative to attract new membership support and increase significantly the existing endowment fund.  These measures will insure this historic institution’s survival in perpetuity.

As the Naples Depot Cultural / Civic Community Center continue to evolve into a nationally important railroad museum it will become a greater historical and educational attraction to local residents and tourists, adults and children.  The present on-going plans for a revitalized Naples Depot are exciting and beneficial to the City of Naples and its citizenry.

Please understand, this is an emergency situation.  The Naples Depot cannot continue to operate under the present “business as usual” conditions.  Escalating costs to maintain an aging building, declining room rentals due to functional obsolescence; larger, more modern room rental accommodations available elsewhere in Naples (our competition) have been some of the contributing factors in the decline of income and lack of use for our facility.

A far-sighted board of directors for the Naples Depot in recent years has undertaken the challenge to address the monetary shortfall of the facility by realizing and implementing a new direction and new ideas to “re-invent” the Depot in an interesting, logical way to attract the existing populace, tourists, educators, historians, railroad aficionados and generations to come.

The Lionel Train Museum and the 7.5” gauge Outdoor Riding Railroad are now a reality at the Naples Depot.  In the future there will be additional miniature train layouts of different sizes and gauges, garden railroads, too.  Whereas some of the locomotives are electric, others are gas powered and there are also some steam locomotives!  Many different aspects of America’s (and Naples) railroad past are now, and will be in the future, represented at the Naples Depot.  A mixture of railroad history and model railroad fun are coming together in terrific displays attractive to people of all ages. Come aboard as the Naples Depot steams into the future.  Your support is needed for preserving on of Naples’ most important historic landmarks.  The Naples Depot is a 501C-3 organization; all contributions are tax deductible.
