As a Community Child Care Coordinating agency, Child Care of Southwest Florida, Inc. is the region's leading child care resource. Established as a private, non-profit organization in 1967, Child Care of Southwest Florida, Inc. is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and provides high quality child care services to children from infancy through age 16 in Lee, Collier, Hendry and Glades Counties.

Child Care of Southwest Florida is our region's leading child care resource. Established as a private, non-profit organization in 1967, Child Care of Southwest Florida, Inc. provides high quality child care services to children from infancy through age 16 in Lee, Collier, Hendry and Glades Counties.

As a Community Child Care Coordinating agency, Child Care of Southwest Florida, Inc., is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and is funded by the Agency for Workforce Innovation – Office of Early Learning, city and county contracts, school boards, the Florida Children’s Forum, U.S. Sugar Corporation, United Way and private contributions.

We take our mission of promoting, modeling, and educating for quality child care in Southwest Florida very seriously. The Agency:
  
   • Directly operates quality child care centers in Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties and contracts   with private centers and homes in Lee and Collier Counties. All directly operated Pre-school child centers are accredited or in the process of becoming re-accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

   • Provides child care services for low income families, enabling clients to accept employment to reduce their dependence on public assistance.

   • Coordinates and conducts required training classes for all child care providers in the area.

   • Provides a Resource & Referral service to all families at no cost.

   • Provides child care for children at risk of abuse or neglect.

   • Contracts with district public schools to provide School Readiness and Migrant programs.

   • Operates Head Start programs in Hendry and Lee Counties.

   • Offers technical assistance and grants to centers and home-based providers to improve program quality.

   • Offers CDA classes.

   • Sponsors the Child Care Food Program, a federally-funded program that reimburses family child care homes for food served at breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.

   • Sponsors an annual child care conference.

   • Operates a mobile resource library for providers.

Child Care of Southwest Florida, Inc. is available to anyone who needs information concerning child care. Our major concern is the well being of children. By providing developmentally appropriate programs that are affordable and convenient, we strive to assure our children’s healthy growth during their formative years. Through a playful and nurturing environment, we support a child’s growing skills – physically, socially, verbally, and intellectually.
